Boating/Kayak Season is April 15-November 15
Daily inspection of marina/boats
- Check that boats are tied up properly
- Instruct boaters on how to properly tie up boats according to LHBA specs
- Contact boat owners regarding any problems
- Liaison with the Administrator regarding slip assignments (slips are assigned according to size of boat to best utilize marina)
- Maintain awareness of updated lists of boat slip renters with contact and boat information
- Email notices of non-compliance to slip and rack renters (copy Board members)
- Verify only paid kayaks are in marina racks using updated rack renter lists
- Check that fire extinguishers have been inspected annually; report to Administrator
- Check that water is functioning properly
- Check that lights are functioning properly
- Check life preservers
- Check that the gate is operating properly
- Oversee WiFi and security cameras
- Report any problems to the Board via email or phone promptly
- Assist with storm preparation and emergency planning for the marina
- Coordinate and supervise clean-up and repairs following storms or emergencies
- Communicate with boat owners regarding emergency protocols when necessary
- Help weigh in on Marina-related construction work proposals
- Help supervise any approved Marina-related construction or maintenance activities
- Provide feedback to the Board on infrastructure needs and improvements
- Check that all boats/kayaks are removed at the end of season
- Check that all rigging is removed from pilings and bulkhead at the end of season
- Inspect and replace broken wooden ladders with new aluminum ladders
- Dock Master is entitled to a free slip if he or she is the sole owner of a boat. He or she must supply copies of registration, current insurance and a properly filled out application to be on file with LHBA annually
- If Dock Master does not own a boat, compensation is $1,750 per season
